About this culture

One of each fry culture, packed in a single door-to-door parcel: banana worms for the first tiny days, microworms as fry grow, vinegar eels swimming in the water column as your always-ready backup, and daphnia (moina) for growing fry and conditioning the parents. Because courier costs more than a single R50 culture, the kit is the sensible way to buy — four cultures, one delivery fee, a written quick-start card for each culture in the box, and at R200 it meets our minimum order on its own.

Best for

  • First-time breeders
  • Betta, guppy & tetra spawns
  • Anyone paying for courier anyway
  • Restocking after a culture crash

How to culture it

  1. Set the microworms and banana worms up in separate labelled oats tubs on the day they arrive.
  2. Set the vinegar eels up in their own labelled oats tub the same day (exactly like the microworms — ours are not cultured in vinegar).
  3. Tip the daphnia (moina) starter into a tub of aged water at 20–30 °C the same day — it arrives concentrated (500 ml worth of animals), so top up with aged water and let it spread out.
  4. Stagger fresh worm tubs every 2–3 weeks and the four cultures will feed spawn after spawn.

How to feed it

Match the food to the fry: banana worms first, microworms next, vinegar eels any time they are hunting in open water, then newborn-to-adult daphnia (moina) as mouths grow.

Full feeding notes are on each culture’s own product page (linked from your order confirmation on WhatsApp).
